About Us

We are a group of concerned citizens who have formed the non-profit Society for the Preservation of the Naramata Bench.  We are farmers, agritourism owners, teachers,  geologists, recreational tourism owners and wine industry folks..  A third of our committee live in the core of urban Penticton.   We are from all walks of life but have one thing in common.   We want to preserve the rural countryside and prevent the environmental degradation that comes with removing forest, and urban sprawl on steep hillsides, where subdivisions don't belong.

 

We work closely with the Naramata Society for Responsible Infrastructure and jointly, our aim is to protect the hillsides of the Naramata Bench.  Our goal is to bring community awareness of current and future development proposals.

The aim of the Society and this website is to gather like-minded community members to voice their concerns and take action to protect our agricultural heritage and retain the rural character of the area.
